According to ESPN’s report, testing revealed the cancer didn’t unfold past the prostate.

Mourning informed the outlet that he had the elimination process in March and is now cancer free.

Mourning is a 7-time All-Star, an NBA champion and an Olympic gold medalist.

He performed most of his NBA profession with the Miami Heat.

Mourning informed ESPN in an interview that he’s encouraging routine prostate cancer screening for men and that he’s decided to be an advocate for at-risk men.

“What scares me about this disease is that there are so many men walking around feeling great and have that cancer in them and they don’t know it,” Mourning informed ESPN. “The only way to find out is to get their blood tested and get their PSA checked. There are 3.3 million men living in the U.S. with prostate cancer, and many don’t even know it. I was one of those guys.”
