MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — The Miami Dolphins have been already wanting to add a veteran cornerback even earlier than Artie Burns suffered torn ACL this week.
Now, following that damage, they’ve introduced in some skilled assist.
The Dolphins have reached a deal with Jack Jones, a cornerback who beforehand performed for the Patriots and Raiders, ESPN’s Adam Schefter posted on X Saturday.
He’s becoming a member of Miami on a one-year contract. The actual earnings of the deal haven’t but been disclosed.
Jones was initially drafted by New England within the fourth spherical in 2022.
The Patriots waived him in November 2023 after he was benched for lacking curfew throughout a street journey.
The Raiders picked him up off waivers, and he went on to begin 16 of the 17 video games he performed for them within the 2024 season.
During that point, Jones racked up 69 tackles, three interceptions, and even returned one for a landing. However, after the Raiders made adjustments to their entrance workplace and training employees, he was let go this offseason.
With Miami’s cornerback group missing expertise, Jones will possible get a stable alternative to compete for a beginning job this season.
Jack joins a cornerback room that features Kader Kohou, Cam Smith, Storm Duck and Kendall Sheffield.
